I love this blend of street art, portraiture, and photojournalism; a blending of the personal and political in public spaces. JR’s work is simultaneously celebratory and confrontational, forcing a conversation on the humanity of our neighbors, our “enemies,” and our unsung heroes. It’s innovative art like this that makes me want to be the best photographer I can be.
