Olaf’s Song of the Day:
Cafe Tacvba | El Fin de la Infancia | Re
A friend of mine played this at a party this last weekend and it’s been stuck in my head since. It want to get up and jump around! I heard another song from Cafe Tacvba on a mix another friend made last month. So over the last few days I’ve been exploring the music of this seminal Rock en EspaƱol band which is brand new to me. So my turn to share Cafe Tacvba with you!
Olaf’s Song of the Day:
M.I.A. | Amazon | Arular
Love M.I.A.’s first album, Arular. When I first heard it, it was unlike anything I’d ever listened to. The album is danceable, political, sexy, and it was love at first listen. M.I.A. has continued to put out creative original music, which I enjoy to varying degrees, but this first album holds “classic” status in my collection. If you haven’t listened to the album in a while, I definitely recommend giving a beginning-to-end listen to remind you of why M.I.A. is where she’s at today.
